A blog dedicated to the life, times and general fabulousness of Katherine Parr - so much more than the wife who survived.

In Katherine's Footsteps
I spend a lot of time walking where Katherine once walked. The beautiful Sudeley Castle in Gloucestershire was her last home and it's the place where she is buried. Visitors can see her tomb but also wander the paths and corridors that were once trod by Katherine the Queen.
Sudeley became her home following her marriage to Thomas Seymour but there is little trace of him here and all the better for it, the man was a bounder. But the castle celebrates the life of Katherine Parr, its most famous resident, while placing her in the context of many resilient and groundbreaking women who have turned this piece of perfect prettiness into a powerhouse all of its own.
This post is really just to share a few images of Sudeley and introduce it into the blog's telling of Katherine's story. I can't resist pictures of it, it's so charming. But I also hope that as I write more about the queen that lived there, I can show why it was such an important part of a fascinating royal story.
