Weekend Reads: books about Katherine

Say hello to weekend reads. This is a place on the blog for a look at some of the books that feature Katherine, her family, her life and her times as well as related subjects. Yes, I'm being ambitious.

I'm going to start with a bit of a list, an idea of some of the tomes available on the sixth queen. As I go along there will be other lists, reviews and recommendations. But we'll start with a quick look at some of the most easily found biographies of Mistress Parr.

  • Katherine the Queen, Linda Porter (2011)
  • Katherine Parr, A Guided Tour of the Life and Thought of a Reformation Queen, Bradon G. Withrow (2012)
  • Catherine Parr: Henry VIII's Last Love, Susan James (2010)
  • Katherine Parr: the Life and Faith of a Tudor Queen, Don Matzat (2019)
  • Queen Katherine Parr, Anthony Martienssen (1973)
  • Catherine Parr, Elizabeth Norton (2011)

I've read them all so expect reviews of them very soon, here on the blog. And I've started with these six because you can find them quickly on Amazon, several are also on Kindle. And if you're asking, always start with Martienssen, my favourite of the six outlined here.
