The Tithe Barn, or what remains of it, stands at the entrance to modern day Sudeley Castle and it's irresistible. This is the gateway to beauty.

The remains of this medieval building where the owners of Sudeley past would have stored the tithes brought to them by those who called them lord and master are now a haven of plants and flowers, turned into a breathing landscape of loveliness that always calms.
In older days, it would have been on the side of the castle, a working area and a source of wealth. Now, it is the way in for those coming to see the splendour of Sudeley. It's the first part of the castle that I ever saw and now, when I am lucky enough to revisit, it always bring me a huge sense of joy.
From the ruins of its walls you can see the castle itself, its perfect lawns and the promise of history and excitement ahead of you. It is an exquisite place and a gateway to beauty. I would happily spend every Friday here.
